All “Joyous Journey” retreats are exclusively designed and packaged for our client base. Each and every client can specify their individual needs, be it physical, emotional or spiritual and these will and can be integrated into the programme activities wherever possible.
Our retreats cover a combination of Yoga practices, introduction to Tai Chi and Qi Gong, Iridology, Meditation, Kinesiology and Nutrition.
YOGA in its simplest form can be explained as the union of body, mind and spirit for total well being. Yoga is not attached to any particular religion or dogma and is practised by Western and Eastern cultures alike. Yoga is an ideal way to combat the stresses of modern day life. Yoga can calm the mind, deepen concentration, reduce stress, support hormonal balance and healthy blood pressure, improve flexibility, build body strength and improve breathing. As well as health benefits, yoga meditation enhances clarity, optimism and inspiration. On a deeper level, yoga provides a means to cultivate inner peace, contentment and harmony.
TAI CHI is the supreme ultimate because it goes right to the root of most health problems by relaxing the muscles and mind, aligning the spinal posture, and balancing the energy systems that run through the body, providing them with life energy. It is one of the most soothing, easy and powerful things one can do for oneself. It is a profound self-improvement tool, a great toning exercise, and an incredible healing art. Whether one wants to improve external beauty, mental outlook, or physical health and longevity, Tai Chi heals the roots of one’s being.
QI GONG is a set of internal healing exercises. It corrects your posture and enhances relaxation. It energizes one’s body and tranquillises one’s spirit, promotes centering, harmony and healing. A blending of the inner and outer. It creates power and strength as well as grace and flexibility. The effects toward balance and co-ordination are subtle, but powerful. It brings a sense of flowing like a river, a rhythm that stimulates that of nature and a circulation of the “Qi” or life force energy.
IRIDOLOGY or eye diagnosis can reveal health and personality traits. Throughout history it has been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. But today, with continual research going on internationally backed up by hundreds or maybe thousands of years of previous research into the eyes, this modality can be used to help prevent disease and illness and hence one can have a much brighter and healthier future.
MEDITATION describes a state of concentrated attention on some object of thought or awareness. It usually involves turning the attention inward to the mind itself. Meditation is often recognised as a component of Eastern religions, having originated in Vedic Hinduism. It has also become mainstream in Western culture. A distinct feature of meditation is the unfolding of profound “Inner Silence” which is a result of the mind quietening down and the breath slowing down - while the thought processes become thinner and diluted … leading to a feeling of solitude and peace initially.
KINESIOLOGY uses muscle testing to balance the lymphatic, neurovascular and meridian systems of the body. With this technique, emotional stress can be relaxed in a safe and effective manner, leaving the person refreshed, relaxed and in a state of harmony.
NUTRITION in the 21st century include learning about Superfoods and the remarkable range of health benefits they impart, nutrition care, nutritional instructions and an introduction to naturopathy.
NATUROPATHY seeks to develop the foundation of wellness, rather than simply treating disease. No matter what the state of health, the well-being of a person can be enhanced with herbal, dietary, homeopathic and lifestyle therapies. Personal weight loss programmes, iridology and kinesiology sessions are available as an after service.
